Hospice provides grieving family members ongoing support after their loved ones have died. Some of our widows, widowers, and adult children of our patients who have died need extra support in building a life without their loved one. We are seeking people who have "been there" who would be willing to be trained to provide a few "kitchen table visits" in the home, nursing home, or at a cofee shop to provide a listening ear. We will provide the grief support training.
Out of respect for the grieving process we ask that volunteers wait at least one year before volunteering after the death of an immediate family member.
Volunteers will need to have their own transportation. They must pass a background check, drug screen and tb screening - all paid for by AseraCare.

AseraCare is a family-centered hospice. We provide hospice services to patients and their families in the place they call home - in their apartment or house, assisted living or nursing home. Our services include RN case management, home health aid visits, social work, spiritual care, volunteers, and bereavement support for the families.
