YBA PLAY is a free instructional league that immerses youth in The Academy Way - a positive culture that cultivates excellence and performance mastery through an emphasis on teamwork, effort, continual learning, and a love of baseball/softball. We see this not as just a coaching job but an opportunity to make DC a better place.

Mission Statement
The mission of the Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy is to use the sports of baseball and softball as vehicles to foster positive character development, academic achievement and improved health among youth in underserved areas in Washington, D.C.
Description
The Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy provides academic enrichment programming as well as baseball and softball programming for scholar-athletes in Wards 7 and 8. We also provide education focused on nutrition education and how to make healthy lifestyle choices. The YBA provides a summer academy for scholar-athletes, as well as a fall after-school academy for scholar-athletes throughout the school year.
