Join us to help restore North Creek Forest and fight climate change in your own backyard! We will be working at our new 242nd St. Restoration Site that has significant invasive plant growth. Our activities for the day will focus on removing invasive weeds, spreading mulch, and removing garbage.

Your work will help improve the forest's health by increasing biodiversity, spreading mulch to reduce erosion, and increasing accessibility to the work site. No experience is required, and all ages and group sizes are more than welcome!

Friends of North Creek Forest will provide tools, gloves, snacks, and hot refreshments for all volunteers. Directions are below:

242nd St. Restoration Site

  • Directions to parking: Use 24227 26th Ave SE, Bothell, WA 98021 as the destination in your preferred navigation system. Please park along 242nd Place SE along the back and sides of this address.
  • After you are parked: Please walk up (north) along 26th Ave. SE for one block and then turn right (east) onto 242nd Street. The restoration site's entrance is at the end of this stub road, and you should see our sign-in area.

Our Mission: To maintain and improve the biological function of North Creek Forest through education, stewardship and conservation in perpetuity.

Description

Friends of North Creek Forest is a grassroots environmental non-profit founded in 2011 that focuses on environmental restoration and education within North Creek Forest. By weaving education and restoration together we are improving the ecological function of the forest while also boosting education. Expanding this model benefits our salmon and the Puget Sound.

Our volunteer work helps reduce soil erosion, increase forest heatlh, increase water quality, increase native wildlife habitat, and builds a stronger sense of community. Check back frequently for future volunteer opportunities.
