Volunteers serve PEER Servants' microfinance partners in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Eurasia, and Latin America by teaming with others and applying the skills they already have to help the microfinance institutions grow. PEER Servants trains the volunteers in the areas of microfinance, operating in cross-cultural settings, and in the application of tools that can strengthen the microfinance partners. By volunteering with PEER Servants, your life will be enriched by the close relationships you'll develop with microfinance practitioners and entrepreneurs around the world, and with the other PEER Servants volunteers right in your own backyard!

PEER Servants' mission is to transform lives by partnering for economic empowerment and renewal.

Description

PEER Servants partners with microfinance institutions in the developing world, providing business services, technical and strategic planning assistance, and some funding. The organizations in each country provide small loans and training to low-income clients seeking to start or expand small businesses. Through microfinance, individuals, families, and even communities are offered an opportunity to break out of systemic poverty. A faith-based organization, we promote not just economic growth but also personal growth and transformed lives.

PEER Servants is staffed mainly by volunteers--professionals in business, communications, information technology, management consulting, marketing, education, development, etc.--that donate time and expertise to support the organization's vision and mission.
