Event Description: Volunteers will help AWS with a FUMC Workday. The installation of rain gardens at FUMC helps with stormwater reduction into the Wells Run Tributary and also treats pollutants from getting into Wells Run. We need your help to maintain these rain gardens, so that our native plants can continue to flourish. This event could involve weeding and/or planting. We will provide all necessary tools and training for this event.
Registration is required. Please register at least 2 days prior to the event date you chose to volunteer in order to receive additional information regarding proper clothing, etc.
For more information, contact Emily Castelli at ecastelli2@anacostiaws.org or call 301-699-6204 x103.

Description
Since 1989, the Anacostia Watershed Society has been working to make the Anacostia River swimmable, fishable and beautiful for everyone to enjoy!
We are always looking for volunteers to help with a variety of activities including: community cleanups, native plant and tree plantings, invasive plant removals, and meadow restorations.
AWS recognizes that volunteers truly are the backbone of this organization and that without them, our mission of cleaning up the Anacostia River would not be possible!
Contact us today to make a stand against pollution and restore this river to its natural beauty!
