Interim Hospice is looking for volunteers to visit patients and brighten their day in Levelland and surrounding areas. Volunteers will go through training and be equipped with the knowledge they need to provide relief for patients care givers and family members. This program also offers friendship to patients who are in their last stage of life. Patient visits can be weekly or monthly for 30 minutes-1 hour long. The visits are a great opportunity for volunteers to talk to patients, read to them, play games or listen to music with them. Volunteers must be 16 years or older and must be able to pass a background check. TB tests are paid for by Interim Hospice. Volunteering with us would be beneficial for pre-nursing, pre-med and social work students because it provides them with the skills they need to work with terminally ill patients and it could count towards community service hours. This is also a great way to give back to the community and brighten our patient’s lives.
