Transformation mentors are volunteer mentors for our Transformed Mothers program. Mentors provide social support and guidance to refugee mothers as they navigate and settle into a new way of life in Houston. Transformed is a unique program, designed to acclimate single mothers into their new environment. A 'Transformation plan’ is created for each mother at the beginning of the 10- month session. The Transformation plan gives attention to areas such as financial management, employment, language, transportation, and housing. The Transformed team works alongside the mothers to implement their respective plans. A 'Transformation Coach’ is matched with one single mother for the entire session. The Transformation Coach must take a lead in organizing social and recreational activities for the assigned single mother.

Amaanah Refugee Services is in the forefront of the refugee journey from arrival to integration. Amaanah, a non-profit organization, provides support and assistance to refugees of all ages, empowering them with effective literacy and employment skills; schooling and education; general life skills and any other needs assessed one-on-one with an Amaanah Team Member.
As a non-profit organization, Amaanah is heavily dependent on the selfless efforts of volunteers ad generous donors of the community at large.
