Take children on adventures and journeys, thrill them with wonder and excitement, stimulate their imagination through the art of storytelling!
Primary Duties
Vamos a leer! Read selected books, sing songs, and engage children in early learning activities. Provide interactive and exciting storytelling to children and their families. Should be able perform 25-30 minute storytimes geared for preschoolers. This is a volunteer position as a substitute storyteller.
Qualifications
Ability to read and speak Spanish. Enjoys children, reading aloud and performing. Ability to keep children engaged and organized in large groups. Must be able to work in a noisy environment and with large groups of children. If you have a background in early literacy or are currently studying library science, this opportunity is for you!
Training Provided
Children’s Library staff will offer orientation and training that will provide you with the skills and tools for program expectations.
Time Commitment
Volunteer Storytime Artist will be an assistant and substitute. 2-3 hours per month. Bilingual Spanish Storytime is held on the second Wednesday of each month at 11:15 am.

3months minimum
