Code Platoon, a nonprofit coding bootcamp trains Veterans to become professional software developers in a 14-week, immersive, in-person is looking for a social media manager.
The Chief Marketing Officer will plan, develop and execute strategy for Code Platoon outreach initiatives.
Most importantly, the CMO will devote 5 to 10 hours a week managing a core group of talented and experienced, but time-constrained, volunteers.
Most of our outreach involves presenting our opportunity (which is a highly discounted program that gets Veterans into jobs as well-paid software developers) to potentially interested veterans.
The role also involves but is not limited to, public relations, social media and digital marketing initiatives.

Mission Statement
Code Platoon transforms veterans and military spouses into professional software developers through an immersive, hands-on, educational process and paid internship program.
Description
Code Platoon is a 501(c)3 non-profit that helps veterans and military spouses transition into the civilian workforce by providing technical training and career placement. For 15 weeks the students are immersed in learning the full web development stack, including Python (or Ruby), Django (or Rails), JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. No previous programming skills are required. After completing the program the veteran or military spouse will be hirable as a junior full-stack web developer and eligible for an internship.
