Date: Friday, March 31, 2017
Time: 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Location: Old Port of Bladensburg, located across the street from 4418 Baltimore Avenue, Bladensburg, MD 20710. You will see a sign that says Old Port of Bladensburg Community Park MNCPPC. We will meet in the parking lot to the right of that sign.

Event Description: Volunteers will help the Anacostia Watershed Society to remove invasive species and/or help with plant propagation. We will provide all necessary tools and training for this event.
Physical Requirements: This event will likely involve digging, lifting, bending, and walking for fair distances. Participants will be expected to wear boots or waders for the duration of the event. The event is not suitable for children or those with health issues. If you think any of the physical requirements will be problematic, please let us know or consider joining another event.
Registration is required. Please register at least 2 days prior to the event date you chose to volunteer in order to receive additional information regarding proper clothing, etc.

Description
Since 1989, the Anacostia Watershed Society has been working to make the Anacostia River swimmable, fishable and beautiful for everyone to enjoy!
We are always looking for volunteers to help with a variety of activities including: community cleanups, native plant and tree plantings, invasive plant removals, and meadow restorations.
AWS recognizes that volunteers truly are the backbone of this organization and that without them, our mission of cleaning up the Anacostia River would not be possible!
