We are looking for volunteers committed to the mission, goals, and ideals of the museum. As a volunteer you will have the unique opportunity to make a difference, one person at a time.
We are currently accepting applications to augment our Volunteer Corps in the following areas: Volunteer Museum Guides serve as facilitators for groups visiting the Tolerancenter/ Holocaust Exhibit and The Finding Our Families, Finding Ourselves Exhibit. To learn more about these exhibits please visit our website at www.museumoftolerance.com. Other volunteer opportunities include working with public visitors and assisting at different exhibits. We also interview and train new volunteers on an as-needed basis to assist with in our Library & Archives. The Museum offers a comprehensive 6-week training class for prospective volunteers. The class meets twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1-4:30pm. The Museum Training Course is held biannually, with the next class scheduled to begin October 2009, another one will begin in January 2010. We also offer a program for volunteers that can only assist us on Fridays and Sundays, please ask about this program. We ask our volunteers for a commitment of at least 1 year and 100 hours (about 10 hours a month), in addition to completing any required training. There is an administrative fee of $45 to cover the cost of materials this fee includes a one-year membership to the Museum.

Description
The Museum of Tolerance challenges visitors to explore the meaning of Tolerance and the consequences of intolerance by focusing on the history of the Holocaust and the dynamics of discrimination in our world today. Through unique interactive exhibits, the Museum of Tolerance engages visitors in a journey of self-discovery, to confront their own prejudices and to assume responsibility for the choices they make.
