ORGANIZATION: Oakland Promise

Mentor & Scholar

Ready to have a life-changing experience working with resilient college students? Then become an East Bay College Fund mentor now!

EBCF is a community-based non-profit organization that awards college scholarships and provides mentoring services to first generation, Oakland public school students from low-income backgrounds. As a lead partner in the Oakland Promise, we also offer additional college access services, on-going college counseling, and life skills training.

We are planning to match 300 new scholars with mentors and we still need 100 more mentors to support this year's class. Mentors should live within 50 miles of the Bay Area, possess a Bachelors degree from a four-year university, and have professional experience. We'd love it if you were one of them, but time is running out!

If you'd like to get involved in this meaningful opportunity, then fill out out the following Google Docs sheet and our Volunteer Coordinator will get in touch with you and let you know about our upcoming Information sessions (next event: Thursday, March 23rd). Feel free to also check out our website here.

We look forward to your joining the team.
