Afterschool Program!

Esteem Girls is seeking multiple ESTEEM LEADERS to help stir our fun, hands-on, STEM focused after school programs in Philadelphia. The Esteem Girls after school program meets MondayThursday 4-7pm for the STEM themed after school program. This is a great opportunity to work directly with elementary and middle school girls with hands on science, engineering, technology, and math activities. This also includes tutoring in Math and Science for students majoring in a science or math field. Interns have the opportunity to improve their classroom management skills, teaching style, leadership abilities, and gain curriculum writing experience. Join Esteem Girls efforts to educate, empower, and build girl’s self-esteem in STEM! Program leaders serve as positive and fun role models for the girls!

Our mission is to empower girls in grades 3-8 by building their self-esteem and confidence to pursue STEM.

Description

Founded in 2016, Esteem Girls in a non-profit, community based academic enrichment program dedicated to empowering girls in grades 3-8 by building their self-esteem and confidence to pursue Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM). We accomplish this by developing innovate models and teaching STEM and delivering STEM integrated education programs.

Esteem Girls trains and employs a myriad of interns each year, comprised of undergraduate students, to help implement its after school, community STEM education, tutoring, and summer camp programs.

The Esteem Girls Internship Program encourages talented science, technology, engineering, math (STEM), and education major students to pursue working with elementary and middle school age students. It provides hands on, advanced program implementation and pre-service teaching experience in STEM activities. The internship position allows college students to make important contributions to Esteem Girls and the community while being potential STEM educators and/or program implementers to work within their field of study and grow professionally and personally.
