We are looking for volunteer van drivers to help pick up food donations from our local HEBs. Duties will include driving to various pickup locations, loading donations, and ensuring that food is unloaded and sorted property. Scheduled shifts are from 8 am-11 am daily. We also need drivers to drive to our food distributions as well as occasionally helping deliver food to local schools and partner agencies. To become certified as a van driver, volunteers must have the following:
-A valid Texas drivers license
-A clean driving history for the past three (3) years. (no accidents, speeding tickets, etc.)
-Must complete our online defensive driving course (takes approximately 1 hour)

Description
The Hays County Food Bank functions as both a food pantry that distributes food at our public distribution sites Monday - Friday and as a food bank that serves the clients of our partner agencies at no charge.
Partner agencies include local social service agencies, churches, schools, home health service providers, local shelters, and various other organizations that work with low-income residents in our area.
