Canine Companions for Independence is the largest provider of highly trained service dogs free of charge in the US. We depend on our fundraisers, sponsors, and donors. DogFest 2017 is our major fundraiser in the Atlanta area. We are seeking volunteers to help make this festival successful. There are three shifts available during the festival; set-up, festival management, and break-down.

Mission Statement

Canine Companions for Independence is a nonprofit organization that enhances the lives of people with disabilities by providing highly trained assistance dogs and ongoing support to ensure quality partnerships. The Atlanta Chapter raises awareness, recruits new puppy raisers and volunteers, and supports one another’s work on behalf of the mission in many ways. They are lively networks filled with opportunities for social engagement, from puppy classes to fundraisers.

Headquartered in Santa Rosa, CA, Canine Companions is the largest non-profit provider of assistance dogs, and is recognized worldwide for the excellence of its dogs, and the quality and longevity of the matches it makes between dogs and people. The result is a life full of increased independence and loving companionship.
