After a successful Winter Literacy Play Date with the Youth Policy Institute, we are hosting a second one to celebrate Spring and the book The Hungry Caterpillar!
Families of the valley are invited to come read and make arts and crafts with their children, to encourage a love of reading and literacy.
Volunteers are needed to read with children and help guide them through the craft activities.
Volunteers groups are welcome and all ages welcome! Please contact Jasmin at jasmin.salas@jstart.org or at (213) 387-5545.

About Jumpstart Southern California
Location:
1625 W Olympic Blvd. Ste. 1050, Los Angeles, CA 90015, US
Mission Statement
Jumpstart is working toward the day every child in America enters school prepared to succeed.
Description
Each year, one third of America's children arrive on their first day of school without the skills necessary to succeed at grade level. When children begin behind their peers, catching up, especially without additional assistance, is difficult and unlikely. By focusing on enriching the education of preschool students from disadvantaged communities, Jumpstart is making sure every child has a chance at success. Jumpstart is a national nonprofit dedicated to inspiring children to learn, adults to teach, families to get involved, and communities to progress together.
