We are currently looking for individuals who are equipped with the temperament and dedication to children that often come to our non-profit with their families for help. As a former Early Education professional, I know how rewarding helping a child in our offices can be. At the Tahirih Justice Center, we offer free legal and social services to immigrant women and girls fleeing gender-based violence. It's hard to pay attention during the legal and social service intakes, retainer signings, and/or check-ins. It is particularly difficult to attend them if there is no childcare available for our clients. We are always looking for childcare volunteers to help watch these children while their parent(s) are receiving critical counsel and social service support that will enable them security and justice in the United States.
- Experience with children, ages infant to elementary school-aged
- Passion for working with and spending time with children
- Ability to multi-task and take care of multiple children at one time
- Flexible availability, specifically during the work week.
Since 1997, Tahirih has assisted nearly 20,000 women and children seeking protection against gender-based violence, including sexual assault, domestic violence, human and labor trafficking, plus forced and child marriage. Together with the support of pro bono attorneys and skilled-based professionals such as yourselves, Tahirih helps women and children achieve the legal status they are entitled to under U.S. law. With this freedone, our clients can be free from violence and rebuild their lives in safety and with dignity.
