2017 MMF

Ideaworks Makerspaces is holding the 6th Annual Fresno Mini Maker Faire on April 29, 2018 at the Grizzlies' Stadium. We have many members that will be busy showing their projects, but there are always activities we would like to offer to the public, but not enough bodies to help!

Maker Faires are truly inspiring, fun events aimed at getting the public interested in being creative and making things.

Have your office bring a group or sign up individually. Event is from 12-5pm for the public, but set up starts at 8:30am and clean up about 30 mins after. It actually ends when the ball game ends or at least until 5pm. If there are extra innings we will be open longer.

If you can work at least a three hour shift that would be great, but we are hoping you will love it and stay all day.

Perks include: breakfast burritos in the morning, parking passes (try to carpool), and one free Ideaworks teeshirt.

We also need help planning prior to the event. Logistics, marketing, etc.

More info is at our fresnominimakerfaire.org website.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to promote and encourage technical, scientific, and artistic skills through individual projects, social collaboration, and education.

Description

Ideaworks is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, public benefit organization. Our vision is to become the driving force of inspiration in our community by providing Maker Spaces to the Central Valley. We are dedicated to bringing innovation by providing our community with the resources to develop new skills:

  • through a unique hands-on teaching method of different disciplines through machine and tool usage.
  • by fostering collaboration.
  • by providing educational components that empower our community to develop entrepreneurial skills.
We are a volunteer-run makerspace in the Central Valley of California. We offer classes to the public in woodworking, welding, and ceramics, and add additional classes as instructors become available. Membership is available (discounts to seniors, military, fulltime students) where the shop provides tools and shared knowledge in woodworking, wood turning on lathes, wheel throwing and hand building clay, 3D printing (filament and resin), laser cutters/engravers, wood cnc, metal machining and lathing, bike repair and maintenance, textiles with sewing and serger machines, welding in gas, tig, mig, and stick, and will soon have a forging/casting area, leather shop, stained glass, and jewelry (casting, silversmith, beading).
