Ever find yourself looking up at the trees and noticing their beauty? Join the Rye Nature Center team to track how the trees and plants in our forest change throughout the year and monitor the impact of climate change.
Our group meets on Thursday mornings during seasonal periods of the year to see the plants in their different stages of development. Our spring session is about to get started, so don't miss out!
If you can't make the group meeting on Thursdays, but would still like to take part in our phenology program please contact ajjohnson@ryenaturecenter.org
For more information, visit https://www.usanpn.org. Participants are expected to collect data at least twice a month.

Mission Statement
Environmental Education and Natural Habitat Preservation
Description
Rye Nature Center is owned by the City of Rye, NY and operated by The Friends of Rye Nature Center, a 501 (c) (3) educational non-profit. We have 47 acres of natural habitat with two miles of trails through forest, field and flood plain. Outstanding features include a quarry, Butterfly House, the ruins of the Parson's estate home, Blind Brook, ponds, wetlands, animal exhibits and scenic rock outcroppings. RNC serves tens of thousands of children each year with school programs, after-school programs, pre-school ecology classes and summer camp. We host several large events each year such as "Old Fashioned Winter's Afternoon" in February, "Earth Day Celebration" in April, "Strawberry Sunday" in May and "Fall Festival" in October. There are weekly programs for adults and families and a monthly art exhibit.
