Are you tech savvy, patient, and want to make a difference in the lives of people with special needs? The Library for the Blind and Print Disabled is seeking volunteers with assistive technology (AT) experience and good people skills to provide one-one-one assistance on an as-needed basis to persons who are visually impaired. The ideal volunteer has some experience with the SARA (Scanning and Reading Appliance, a stand-alone reading machine) and the following AT software: JAWS screen reader, Dragon Naturally Speaking, and Zoom Text, but those who haven't use AT before but are interested in learning it are also welcome to contact us.
