Walk with a neighbor on their journey out of poverty - Become an Ally!

Everything we do is focused on one mission: Neighborhoods Without Poverty. Our 6 month career development program is designed to train, educate, and equip motivated individuals to exit financial poverty. Our goal is for them to find a career path leading to earnings of $15 an hour or more with advancement opportunities. By covering education/training costs, offering a cash stipend, and providing one-on-one support, we believe our neighbors have what it takes to overcome barriers and create change for themselves and our communities.

However, we've discovered there is no significant change without significant relationship. Therefore, each of the participants is paired with an Ally - a friend, support, and accountability partner to walk with them on their journey to self-sufficiency. These allies recognize their own ability to both contribute and learn in their relationship with the participant. The journey out of poverty is difficult, but individual support is one of the greatest indicators of success.

Are you willing to walk alongside someone who is in pursuit of financial freedom?

If so, we would love for you to become an Ally!

Allies are individuals who are dedicated to empowering and supporting program participants on their journey to financial freedom. Allies are countercultural, gritty, and knowledgeable helpers who are seeking to abolish poverty one relationship at a time. During your 10-month commitment, you will be a friend, not a mentor as we believe the relationship is mutual and both the Ally and the Leader can grow and Learn from one another.

Especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, we need each other now more than ever before. It's in these times that we need community, and not isolation. It's in these times that we need to come together and provide encouragement to empower each other towards a better future.

We meet on Wednesday evenings for 6:00pm-8:00pm for food, fun and friendshipe. Dinner and childcare is always provided

If you are interested in this opportunity, we would love for you to come visit our program for an evening! Please email Tammy Chase at volunteer@crosspurpose.org to schedule a visit.
