Do you love seeing other people succeed? Does the idea of breaking down societal barriers (socio-economical, racial, religious, educational) excite you? Are you feeling the itch to step outside your "bubble" and learn from the experiences of others? Are you a pro at holding onto a stubborn hope and encouraging others with your lived experience of overcoming obstacles?

If any of these fit you, we would love to talk to you about becoming an Ally.

Being an Ally with CrossPurpose is about more than just volunteering - it's about reweaving the fabric of a frayed society. Adult learners are paired with a group of Allies - caring friends who provide positivity, hope, and community on their journey to self-sufficiency. We meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:00pm-8:00pm to enjoy food, loads of fun, meaningful story sharing, & authentic relationship building. Dinner and free childcare is provided at most events.

At CrossPurpose, we are more than a career and community development program. We provide a stepping stone for adult students to lift themselves, their families, and their generational line out of poverty. Graduates gain new skills to enter a career, embrace a new hope, and experience deep personal transformation. By covering education/training costs, offering monthly stipends, earned income matching, and providing one-on-one coaching, and creating a loving community, we believe our Denver neighbors have what it takes to overcome barriers and change our city.

We are accepting Allies for our next classes at both our Denver and Englewood (South Metro) location. Please email our Volunteer Team at volunteer@crosspurpose.org for questions, to schedule a phone call, and/or a campus visit.

About CrossPurpose

Location:

3050 Richard Allen Ct., Denver, CO 80205, US

Mission Statement

To abolish economic, spiritual, and relational poverty through career and community development.

Description

Our tuition-free, six-month career training
program aims to empower individuals
in Denver to develop the personal and
professional skills that they need to
succeed in the workplace. We offer a
variety of career certification and pre-
apprenticeship tracks to provide a wide
selection of career opportunities.
Our program participants are called
Leaders, because we believe that every
individual is the leader of their own
change. We aren’t the hero, we are
simply here to provide the personal,
professional, and community resources to
help our neighbors succeed. In addition to
emphasizing growth in economic capital,
we believe in the power of developing
spiritual and relational capital.

We believe that no significant change
happens without significant relationships. By
completing our program, our Leaders gain far
more than career skills. We surround them
with caring staff, community volunteers, and
like-minded peers in order to build long-lasting
relationships that go beyond our program.
