Would you like to be a friend to a hospice patient and their family? Do you have a couple hours a month to visit a hospice patient; play cards, watch a movie together, talk about life experiences, celebrate birthdays and holidays?
Hospice is a medical specialty dedicated to the supoort and care of persons with limited life expectancies so they may live as fully and comfortably as possible. Hospice is about living - maintaining a quality of life for each patient in our care.
Patient Visitor Specialists (volunteers) for Kindred Hospice provide friendly visits to patients at healthcare facilities or in their home. We are looking for dedicated volunteers to provide companionship to patients at a designated facility that Kindred provides hospice care to patients that reside there.
Some of the facilities in New Castle that Kindred visits are Heritage St. Paul, Shenago Presbyterian, Garden Way Place and Orchard Manor. We are always adding facilities to our visits dependent on the request of the patient/family.
