As a new organization serving Norfolk and the broader Hampton Roads region, we are looking to expand our Advisory Board by welcoming thoughtful, connected and engaged leaders to help us realize maximum impact for both our Shapers (young, millennial leaders ages 20-29) and our shared community.

The responsibilities of our Advisory Board members are to:

• Provide advice to the Global Shapers Norfolk curatorship on organizational development and strategic planning, including one-on-one consultation and advice as needed and appropriate

• Facilitate introductions and interactions between Global Shapers Norfolk and the broader community of business, non-profit, government and community stakeholders throughout Norfolk and the Hampton Roads region

• Attend board meetings on a quarterly basis and contribute to the Board’s perspective and wisdom by sharing knowledge and experience

In return, Global Shapers Norfolk endeavors to provide you - our Advisory Board - with:

• Rich, ongoing opportunities to collaborate with a group of innovative, energetic and proven young leaders

• A fresh perspective and Millennial insights on local challenges and problem-solving

• New avenues for advancing change and achieving local impact in partnership with the region’s next generation of leaders

• An appreciation of your time through established and transparent governance standards, including predetermined agendas, short and calendared meetings, and a clear purpose for your time, ensuring meetings not only start and end on time but have results

Advisory Board terms are for one year (July 1 to June 30) and meet on a quarterly basis at Old Dominion University in Norfolk; virtual video-conference attendance is available.
