Life is better when we make a new friend!

Help a local octogenarian celebrate the joys of fatherhood by driving him to visit his son who has Downs Syndrome. This dad is legally blind and can no longer drive to Bloomfield for regular visits. He would also like to have someone to read his mail and assist with other community socialization or integration. If you can commit to one visit from Enfield to Bloomfield and then the return, it would really make his day.

Requirements to be a great volunteer include:

  • a desire to help others;

  • a pleasant demeanor;

  • a good reading/speaking voice;

  • average reading skills;

  • organizational or planning abilities;

  • a good driving record;

  • a clear criminal history;

  • two references

  • access to a car with proof of insurance;

  • a minimum of $50/100k liability and $5,000 of property damage coverage.
