Mission Statement

Ananda Marga is a charitable organization dedicated to the welfare of all. Welfare starts with the basic necessities and Ananda Marga is active all around the world providing first the basic needs like food, education, shelter, medical and clothing. When human love is extended to all the creation including animals and plants we call it neo-humanism. In our schools meditation is taught since early childhood that is how mind get the opportunity to expand and nurture an idealistic life.

Description

In New York from the headquarter located in Flushing we coordinate service activities for all North and Center America where schools and other projects are run by volunteers. We also run several yoga classes free of charge in senior citizen centers, colleges and temples. Our teachings are for all without any religious or social discrimination. Meditation is also taught free of charge. In several cities like Los Angeles, Denver, Washington DC and Kansas City we have regular food distribution for the underpriviliged and needy people. AMURT (Ananda Marga Universal Relief Teams) are active in case of calamities providing basic necessities and coordinating development projects.
