Bridging AZ's Veterans Furniture Project

Did you ever think you could get paid for volunteering?

With Operation Second Wind you can; with a 950 hour one year commitment (part-time) you will receive a $585 per month stipend plus a $3,000 education award at the end of your service to be use toward student loans or continuing education for doing good work in the community, if you are 55 or older you can even assign the education award to a direct decedent. Bridging AZ is working with Mesa United Way to offer full and part time positions. It works like the PeaceCorps but you would work on domestic issues right here in Mesa Arizona.

Minimum Requirements

18 years of age or older

U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident

Possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent (or agree to work towards one while serving)

You can help a family that is ready to rebuild their lives. We supply furniture and household goods to qualified clients of social service agencies.

Each year, thousands of previously homeless individuals and families need to start over. These families usually lack the basic items that make a house a home: beds, linens, tables, chairs, eating utensils, and kitchen wares. Bridging AZ strives to provides these basic items, with the goal of helping people who have made the commitment to to rebuild their lives. The service we provide is designed to promote self-sufficiency and long-term stability.
