JuMP is an eight-week program for students interested in health care who are willing to commit to 100 hours of volunteer work. The application process is the same as for other programs, though we can only accept application packets between January 1 and March 31. We have a limited number of slots.
Purpose: The JuMP program places individuals who are interested in volunteering in a professional medical environment throughout the hospital in non-clinical roles that focus primarily on patient satisfaction. The program accepts a limited number of high school students between the ages of 15-17, and provides prime exposure to hospital operations and care delivery.
More about the program:
- Placements include the Lobby Ambassador, Rounding Volunteer on our inpatient units, clerical positions within different hospital departments, and limited volunteer positions in ambulatory surgery.
- Varied placements available for those who are interested, i.e. a volunteer can be placed in more than one department for a diverse experience.
- 4 - 6 opportunities to explore different careers/departments within the hospital through tours, presentations, meetings, etc.
- The program runs for eight weeks starting July 10, 2017 -through September 1, 2017.
- Must commit to at least 6 weeks, 12 - 18 hours per week for a minimum of 100 hours.
