About PLAY FOR JAMES FOUNDATION

Location:

174 DEEPDALE DR, MIDDLETOWN, NJ 07748, US

Mission Statement

The Play for James Foundation is a unique not-for-profit 501(C) (3) organization whose mission is to help young people and families in need embrace education, adopt healthy lifestyles, participate in organized athletics, avoid destructive behaviors and improve their quality of life.

Description

The Foundation is named for James Koehler. During his all-too-brief life James displayed a passion for helping the less fortunate and less able in our communities through a wide range of charitable initiatives. Efforts to aid inner-city homeless, promote education, and provide healthy, enriching activities for seriously ill and disabled youngsters are just a few of the areas where his commitment and compassion have made a positive impact.

A professional baseball player, coach and instructor, James also worked long and hard to identify and provide opportunities for disadvantaged youngsters who would benefit from increased access to sports and recreational programs, athletic training, camps, teams, mentoring, and adult guidance and assistance.

The Play for James Foundation is the expression of the organization’s determination to continue to make a positive difference in people’s lives while honoring James’ memory and his life’s work.
