Improve farmworker access to healthcare! Survey collectors needed

ORGANIZATION: NORTH CAROLINA FARMWORKERS PROJECT INC

Enrollment event
Preparing for a farmworker enrollment event!

The NC Farmworkers Project seeks motivated, Spanish-speaking volunteers to assist with survey collection at two health insurance enrollment events for farmworkers. The events usually draw approximately 40-60 farmworkers who are interested in applying for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act. In addition to offering application assistance, we invite health educators, tax preparers, medical providers, and other community members to the events to offer free information and services to farmworkers.

We frequently conduct surveys and focus groups with farmworkers to evaluate the services and information that we provide to them. Volunteers will be responsible for surveying farmworkers at the enrollment events about their knowledge of health insurance and their experience signing up for a plan. The data collected from these surveys will help us improve our trainings on health insurance and any future health events.

Volunteers must speak advanced to fluent Spanish and be willing to participate in a phone or in-person review of the survey questions before the first enrollment event. We prefer that volunteers commit to participating in both events.

The two enrollment event dates are Sunday, May 21, 2017 and Sunday, June 11, 2017.
