Forsyth Humane Society is seeking individuals and/or groups to assist at our 2nd annual Mutt Strut 5K in the role of Water Station Monitors.
Event description: "Whether running competitively, walking or rolling this race is for you (and your furry family members)! You don’t have to be a pro but for our competitive runners we offer a certified 5k course with disposable bib chip timing. The race will begin and end in the Shallowford Shopping Center (Pig-N-Out's parking lot) on Shallowford Rd by the Shallowford Square between Beinette Dr and Lewisville Vienna Rd.
Volunteer role description- Water Station Monitors: Water Station Monitors will assist staff members with providing water for runners and dogs throughout the duration of the race. Water Station Monitors are also there to mark the 1/2 way spot on the course and encourage participants to keep going!
Water Station Monitors should be capable of walking or standing for long periods of time, being outdoors in the elements, working independently or with minimal supervision, paying attention to ensure safety, and following instructions correctly. *Must be comfortable working around dogs as they will be present at this event.
Volunteers will be asked to attend a 1 hour Orientation meeting on Thursday, May 4th at 6pm at FHS's Adoption Center 4881 Country Club Rd.

Description
Forsyth Humane Society has partnered with Forsyth County Animal Control and is now operating out of two locations, Country Club Road Campus and now our University North Campus (animal control building). We are responsible for the intake, care, and placement of cats and dogs at both locations.
