Summer Internship Opportunity at Crisis Nursery and Owen's House

Are you looking for a meaningful internship this summer?

Are you interested in working with babies, toddlers and children under the age of 14?

Spend the summer giving back to the children in our community by interning at the Crisis Nursery!

The Crisis Nursery of Greater Rochester provides a safe haven for children whose families are going through a crisis. We provide temporary care for children in order to prevent potential abuse or neglect . The families that we help need extra support and safety for their children in order to resolve their difficult situations.

We are looking for high school students class of 2019 and 2020, or college students to intern with us for the summer. We will be selecting students after an orientation and interview. Training will be provided. Interns over the age of 18 will need to pass a background check which can take up to two weeks to clear.

You would be expected to complete two months of interning, totaling about 100+ hours. You will choose shifts during the week and weekends from 8am to 12pm, 12pm to 4pm, or 4pm to 8pm. The start date can be flexible, based on your school schedule. If you have internship requirements from your school that differ from the above, include that information in your interest email to our staff. We have an online sign up system which offers you a great deal of flexibility with your schedule.

This internship would be a great professional development opportunity for prospective college students interested in majors such as Education, Human Services, Criminal Justice, Psychology, Social Work, and Sociology.

If you are interested please email the following staff member with a resume and cover letter explaining why you are interested in this opportunity by May 15, 2019 for college students, and May 31, 2019 for high school students.
Thank you.
