ORGANIZATION: Aplastic Anemia MDS International Foundation

March for Marrow Los Angeles 2017 is an inspiring and festive walk for patients with bone marrow failure disease, their families, friends and supporters and will include team photos and inspiring stories from patients, family members and medical professionals. Registration opens at 6:30 am. The 5K Run will start at 8:00 am and the Walk will start at 9:45 am.

March for Marrow shifts are about three hours long.

6:30-9:00/9:30am: Event set-up, course set-up, vendor set-up, Silent Auction set-up and supervision, registration and t-shirts, Course Marshals, water stations, cheerleaders, photographer’s assistant

9:00/9:30am-12:00pm: More photos, Memory Board, Signing Banner, award ceremony, food distribution, Art of Elysium art project with the children, Auction Close-Out, breakdown

March for Marrow LA 2017, 6:30 am to Noon, Saturday, April 29, 2017, at Shoreline Village in Long Beach, California, 429 Shoreline Village Drive, Long Beach, CA 90802

Parking: 4 hour complimentary parking is available at Shoreline Village. Because we only have 40 Parking Vouchers, we ask volunteers that come in groups to car pool as much as possible.

Volunteer Check-In: there will be a clearly marked Volunteer Check In and will receive a t-shirt. They will receive their assignments at the Volunteer Check-In station and can then grab a cup of Einstein’s coffee or juice and a bagel and report to their volunteer station.

Volunteer Training: We are scheduling two (2) Volunteer Trainings at Shoreline Village, one on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 and Wednesday, April 26, 2017, 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm. We meet in front of the Funnel House right off of the parking lot to tour the layout of the event and assign leadership positions to those who attend the Training. If everyone is open to it we share a pizza at Stefano’s Pizza and Pasta at Shoreline Village.
