The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance is currently recruiting persons interested in volunteering at one of our two gift shops -- Shine, located at the SCCA House, and Rain or Shine, located at the SCCA outpatient clinic.
Persons must be able to make at least a 3 month commitment and be 18 years of age or older.
No retail experience is necessary but familiarity with computers is preferred.
A great opportunity to assist patients, families, staff and fellow volunteers.
Two volunteers assigned per shift so a great opportunity to meet other volunteers.
Two retail stores in the South Lake Union area of Seattle, operated by the SCCA and staffed by volunteers:
Shine, located at the SCCA House (Pontius & John streets).
Vibrant gift shop AND cancer-specialty store open to the public.
Provide retail support in gift shop side-by-side with staff
Weekday shifts: 10am-2pm and 2-6pm. Saturday shifts: 10am-2pm and 11am-3pm.
Rain or Shine, located at the SCCA Outpatient Clinic.
Retail hub for patients, caregivers, staff and volunteers in the outpatient facility.
Weekday shifts 8am-12:00pm and 12-4:00pm.

Description
Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center will accelerate the development, evaluation, and use of new cancer discoveries and treatments and will offer patients greater access to clinical trials, bringing research and clinical care closer together. For current patients the superior care you have come to expect from us will continue uninterrupted. For example, as part of the transition to Fred Hutch there will be no changes to your doctor or care team. Over the longer term, this update to our structure will enable us to improve patients’ care experiences and increase integration across your care team.
