Are you up early? Rise and shine with us - Saturdays at the Uhuru Breakfast & Lunch booth @ The St. Pete Saturday Morning Market!
Volunteers needed every Saturday October 6, 2018 - May 25, 2019 starting 5:30am for set up and break down teams. Meet us at the kitchen or downtown at the market to get the booths set up and start the food prep!
Be a part of the food team that builds a future for African people worldwide!
Set up and Food Prep team 5:30-8:30am:
- 5:30am-Loads food onto the truck at the Uhuru Jiko Community Commercial kitchen in south St. Pete
- 6am- Unloads the truck at Saturday Market (Rowdies Stadium parking lot, downtown St. Pete)
- Puts up the tents, gets the tables and grills in place, puts up banners and skirting
- Gets all the food and drinks into coolers and in place for the cooks and servers
- Slices up tomatoes, avocados, fruit and other ingredients for the menu
- Cooks eggs, sausage, home fries, bacon and other items ready for breakfast
Great for knocking out community service hours! Full day available.
