"The presence of even one other person as I walk into the unknown will give me peace."
Vigil Volunteers are a group of Aseracare Hospice Volunteers that provide a comforting presence to our actively dying patients. They aim to fulfill the mission "no patient should die alone." Caring for people at the end of their lives is a special privilege. Simple caring and compassion are the main ingredients of what is needed to become a Vigil Volunteer.
As a vigil volunteer you will go to a patient's bedside in their final days, sitting with them for a little while. During this time you can pray with them, play music, provide quiet companionship or company for the patient's family. Do you feel called to participate in this special volunteer position? Would you like to learn more? We provide all the training, you provide the desire to help.
If you are interested, call Kim Iannacci, Volunteer Coordinator at 508 721 1219 or email at Kimberly.Iannacci@aseracare.com
