Fostering Hope Initiative is a program providing support to children and families in the community. FHI supports families by mobilizing volunteers in the community to provide crisis respite and social supports, providing means to overcome barriers for families as they improving their circumstances, and assisting familiies in identifying their own needs and then locating and accessing resources to meet those needs.
As a Fostering Hope Initiative Office Assistant, you will assist in every day tasks around the office. These might include:
- Filing documents and paperwork
- Preparing volunteer application packets and intake packets
- Putting volunteer and client information into the database
- Reviewing handouts, flyers, and application to ensure information provided is current.
- Documenting items donated
- Creating volunteer appreciation materials
The assitance that you provide can also be modified to fit your talents or skills you are hoping to learn.

Description
Fostering Hope Initiative is a neighborhood-based collective impact initiative designed to strengthen families, mobilize neighborhoods and promote optimum child and youth development. It is a partnership of nonprofits, schools, businesses, local government, the faith community and parents joining together with a common goal.
Fostering Hope Initiative Neighbor Connectors
Strategically located in neighborhoods where needs are high and resources are few, each of our Neighbor Connectors becomes an expert in knowing the needs of the neighborhood and meeting those needs in sustainable ways.
Safe Families for Children
A network of volunteer host families provide loving homes where parents can place their children in times of crisis and have the support to work through challenges without fear of losing custody of their children.
Father Taaffe Homes
Expecting and single mothers ages 12 to 20 are given a safe and nurturing environment to gain knowledge and skills in prenatal care, parenting, running a household, and creating healthy social connections to help them succeed as a single mother.
Strengthening, Preserving, and Reunifying Families
A unique, intensive treatment program for families who are struggling with the challenges of substance abuse. Counseling and support services are provided in a healthy, nurturing treatment community with safe, stable housing and child care.
