ORGANIZATION: MINT ARTISTS GUILD

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

Mint Artists has an advisory board - a group of about 12 or so people, some of them fairly prominent. They run the gamut from nonprofit CEO to artists and entrepreneurs. Now we need to find ways to engage them, to communicate better with them - and to activate them as our ambassadors and allies. And we want to throw a party for them, and our other key volunteers, this fall.

So we're looking for someone to join the advisory board - and lead it. Then we want you to discover creative easy ways to connect and engage current and new members- so that as they support Mint Artists, they also feel supported and thrilled with our progress, our generosity and our creative projects.

This role will work best with someone who is smart, engaging and respects volunteers' time and limits. If you have been active on a board or advisory board before, or are an active volunteer elsewhere, you may have the right stuff.

About MINT ARTISTS GUILD

Location:

PO Box 21667, Detroit, MI 48221, US

Mission Statement

Mint Artists Guild helps to transform aspiring Detroit youth artists through education, exceptional engagement and experience, resulting in earning opportunities, skill-building, exposure, and mentoring. Mint launches creative careers and lasting connections. Mint also infuses the community with art and creative experiences, enhancing a collaborative, healthy and generous culture.

Description

Mint works with artists ages 13 to 23 on entrepreneurial, career and life skills, and gives them opportunities to sell their creative work. A summer jobs program, business workshops and online educational and informational resources are offered to young visual artists. In 2020, we launched the Metro Detroit Youth Arts Competition, a creative activity kit giveaway (of 5,500 kits) and in 2021, we launched leadership development training. This year, we are working on an alumni engagement program, adding creative jobs to our website and so much more. We need your help and support to continue our growth!
