This April, get outdoors and have some fun by volunteering at ACR Health’s 20th Annual Hike for Life! The event begins at 1pm on Saturday, April 28th at a new location: the beautiful campus of SUNY Polytechnic in Utica, NY! We are looking for volunteers to help with everything from event set up and hospitality to assisting in course games. Volunteer positions vary in length from 2 hours to 6 hours. Volunteering at the Hike for Life is a great way to get involved in your community, meet new people and have fun! AIDS Community Resources, through its staff and volunteers, responds to the AIDS epidemic by working to: prevent the incidence of HIV infections enhance the quality of life for people infected/affected by HIV/AIDS collaborate in communities to address HIV/AIDS related needs in the Central, Northern, and Mohawk Valley regions of New York State facilitate access to available resources end discrimination Created in 1983, ACR serves Cayuga, Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, Oswego, and St. Lawrence counties in New York State. AIDS Community Resources is financially supported by both public and private funds.

Description

AIDS Community Resources (ACR) is a not-for-profit, community-based organization providing prevention, education and support services to those infected with and affected by HIV/AIDS in the Central, Northern, and Mohawk Valley regions of New York State. From July 2006 - June 2007, ACR provided support services to a combination of 1040 HIV positive clients and their families. 13,613 individuals were reached through prevention and education services.
