Goal of the Event:
Raise critical funding for the Caring for Children Foundation of Texas (CFCF) to provide positive health outcomes for children in Texas.

Responsibilities of Committee:
We are looking for committee members who have social, philanthropic and/or corporate connections! Primary responsibility of the Fundraising Event Committee is to ensure that the CFCF meets its goal by actively fundraising for the 2nd Annual Big Shots ParTee. Specifically, attend monthly committee meetings (May - November {excluding couple months in the summer} in Dallas), contribute to group discussions, serve on one (or more) sub-committee's (listed below) and work the event on 11/11 if possible (at Topgolf in Dallas).

1. Sponsorship Sub-Committee - responsible for solicitation of individual and corporate sponsors ($1,500 - $10,000). Ideally, members of this committee are well connected in the community, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and are not afraid to sell. Furthermore, these individuals do not get discouraged by people who say no - their tenacity eventually pays off.

2. Auction Sub-Committee - responsible for securing donations (and picking up when needed) from the broader community that will be sold through a silent and live auction. Members will identify the most sought after items based on data provided and seek new and exciting items to ensure the event’s success. Members of this committee have the gift of getting something for nothing, knowing that a little charm goes a long way.

3. Swag Bag Sub-Committee - responsible for collecting items for swag bags given as thank you gifts to attendees at the event, i.e. tote bags, koozies, pens, water bottles, magnets, gift cards, beauty supplies, hats, golf balls, key chains, etc.

Thank you in advance for helping us to serve the most vulnerable, our children. We look forward to working with you.

The CFCF provides immunizations to uninsured and medically underserved children as well as targeted preventative and health education services. The foundation’s Care Van Program conducts mobile health outreach completely free of charge to help eliminate financial and geographic barriers to health care access. It’s the only statewide program of this kind. Since its inception 25 years ago, the organization has helped provide nearly 1.3 million immunizations to over 840,000 children and more than 270,000 children with dental exams and sealants. Mission Statement

The mission of the Caring for Children Foundation of Texas' Care Van Program is to help provide access to immunizations for uninsured and medically underserved Texas children as well as targeted preventative and health education services.

Description

One in four children living in Texas go without the necessary immunizations to lead healthy, happy lives due to a lack of affordability and access to medical care. Yet, immunizing children is one of the most direct, simple and least expensive ways to build healthier futures for medically underserved families in Texas.

Using its fleet of specially customized mobile immunization Care Vans, the Care Van Program is able to complement traditional "brick and mortar" clinics by visiting schools, churches, restaurants, recreational parks, shopping centers, public housing, community events, etc. and conduct immunization outreach clinics in the communities where these at-risk families live and work. In addition to offering free childhood immunizations, the Care Van Program also offers free health screenings at most of its health education community events. Health screenings include blood pressure checks, body fat and strength tests.

The program is coordinated through the Caring for Children Foundation of Texas, Inc., sponsored by BlueCross and BlueShield of Texas.
