Lend a Hand Day 2017 Volunteer Information
WHAT: The Town of Danville and volunteers from the community are helping Danville seniors with their spring yard clean up. Tasks include basic yardwork, pruning, weeding, mowing and clean up. Additionally, 8 people are needed to help with set up and volunteer registration in the morning between 7 - 9:30am.
WHEN: Saturday April 27, 2019 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
WHO: Enthusiastic adults and youth over 16. Youth 14-15 years old can volunteer if they are accompanied by an adult. For safety reasons younger children are not allowed.
WHERE: A mandatory orientation to get instructions and assignments, will be held at the Danville Community Center (420 Front Street) 8 a.m. the morning of the event, before heading out to various homes in Danville.
What to bring on the day of the event: Gloves, hand tools, water, sunscreen, and snack/lunch, loppers, hand pruners, rake, shovel. If you have other skills or yardwork equipment such as lawnmower, wheelbarrow, weed wacker, trimmer, edger etc. let us know when you register.
