SVSF's Adult GED Program provides free individualized assistance to adults in preparation for the High School Equivalency/GED exam.

We are looking for tutors -

Monday mornings from 9:00am - noon and Thursday afternoons from 1:30pm-3:30pm at 9641 Harper Ave. (East Side location)

Tuesday evenings 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at 1200 Oakman, MTI Building Detroit, MI 48238 (FOCUS HOPE)

Thursday afternoons 1:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at 26 Peterboro, Detroit, MI 48201 (COTS)

And Wednesday mornings from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. at 13800 Eastburn St., Detroit, MI 48205 (Brilliant Detroit)

We focus heavily on math, because that seems to be the most challenging subject for most students. There will also be some need to assist students with Language Arts, Science and Social Studies.

If the time frame is between 9:00am and noon. You can tutor the whole time of come for part of it, for example, 9:00am-10:00am.

There also may be other volunteer opportunities available.

SVSF offers services to the community through basic skill-building and academic enhancement for at-risk children and adults. These programs are designed to help build self-sufficiency skills for academic and employment success, personal achievement and dignity. Our programs are designed to break through the barriers to education that many residents in our area face.
