Christian Trauma Forum Support Team

ORGANIZATION: Hope Recovery, Inc.

  • 4 people are interested

Our organization added a support forum in the fall, and it has been slow to come to life and involvement. We're looking for 10 volunteers who are either survivors of trauma who are doing well enough to commit to at least 4 days (approx 4 hours) per week, or knowledgeable about traumatic experiences and able to give support. Volunteers for the forum must be Christians who have a spiritual walk with Christ. Debate, theological discussions and proselytizing is not permitted.

This team will help to increase the activity of the forum, will welcome new members, and will help with monitoring specific forums for appropriate posts.

Advice permitting is not permitted as this is not a therapy program. Being available, encouraging, offering ideas that have helped you or someone you know is permissable as long as talking from a personal experience.

Various forum topics include abuse, natural disasters, forums specific for women and for men, self-injury, dissociation, PTSD and more.

Some training is required for activities in the forum. This is done online.

Any survivor of trauma, whether Christian or not are welcomed to participate in the forum for support.
