Corner Captains are volunteers who make sure that children walking to and from either Maybury or Bennett Elementary are crossing safely at particularly high traffic intersections. We are asking for individuals that commit to volunteering at least 45 minutes one school day each week for the next 17 weeks.
This is an opportunity to gain valuable public safety experience and may be the perfect opportunity for someone looking to go into law enforcement. This is also a great opportunity for stay at home parents and grandparents with older children.
*corner captains may be leigible for a small stipend to cover gas expenses
** this opportunity will renew in the fall

We accomplish our mission by:
- Collecting and disseminating information on environmental issues affecting Southwest Detroit;
- Developing an environmentally informed and active citizenry;
- Serving as a catalyst and resource for initiatives to improve the environment and stimulate environmentally sound economic development;
- Identifying and expanding common ground for addressing environmental issues through reasoned dialog.
