Training HOTLINE Volunteers answer phone calls from people in the community who are experiencing personal distress, feeling along, needing help, looking for resources, and needing a "listening ear." A 40 hour course for one week in the summer teaches volunteers skills which are helpful over the phone, via chat and text. Training topics include: Active Listening Skills, Addiction Awareness, Mental Health, Suicide Prevention, and Community Resources. HOTLINE Calls are free, confidential and anonymous. Classes are held for one week in the summer from June 26th to June 30th from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm.
There is a one time training fee of $35 which included the training book and other materials.
