The Summers family loves hosting new students and "growing" their family.

Council for Educational Travel, USA (CETUSA) is seeking volunteer host families in the Indiana, PA area to open doors to their homes, their communities, and their hearts for international high school exchange students. Exchange students from Europe, South America, and Asia are now being placed in volunteer host families for the 2017-2018 academic year.

"Now more than ever is it important for our communities to have the opportunity to meet and interact with people from another culture - especially young people. The CETUSA High School Exchange program has been building friendships and fostering greater understanding across cultures for 20 years. I feel fortunate to be working with this company," says CETUSA High School Program Director Lisa Turnwall.

CETUSA places students through the diligent work of Community Coordinators. Coordinators work with the local high schools to ensure school placement for the students and look for volunteer host families to welcome the students into their homes. CETUSA Coordinators are dedicated to helping the students and host families make the most of this life changing experience.

"We have been very happy with our CETUSA experience and coordinator! This is our first time hosting, and it has been a very positive experience. Roxane is a wonderful student and has integrated into our family beautifully!" - from a recent host family evaluation.

CETUSA works with partner organizations around the world to identify students with exceptional English skills and maturity to participate in the US Department of State J-1 Exchange Visitor Program. The exchange students are fully insured and come with their own spending money. They expect to be treated as one of the household and want to live the life "of a typical American teenager". The host families are asked to provide a bed in either a shared or private bedroom, a place for the student to study, three meals a day, and a welcoming home environment.

Contact CETUSA to find out more about becoming a host family by emailing s.ferraro@cetusa.org, calling 724-422-1071, or by visiting our website: www.cetusa.org. CETUSA works with families with children, couples, empty nesters, or single households. Open your heart and your home to begin your international adventure today!
