Volunteer to help an adult or small group of adults with their reading skills so they can be more successful as they navigate everyday life. Volunteers will be invited to attend a one hour training with staff so they can learn tips and best practices working with adults. Volunteers will work with eager learners through hands on games/activities, worksheets, real life examples and reading exercises using provided curriculum. We are looking for volunteers that will provide an eight week commitment, but are open to staying longer if their adult learner feels they could benefit from a second session. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to participate in our Homeless Engagement Initiative in the event that a student is not able to attend their session.
We are looking for volunteers with morning to early afternoon availability, M-F.
