w.a.g.s. (Wonderful Animals Giving Support) holds a banquet each year to honor its volunteers who dedicate their time to providing pet therapy to people all over the Kentuckiana region. The banquet is on Saturday April 1 from Noon to 4:00 pm. We need volunteers who will be willing to help with setup and breakdown duties. (Please note that dogs will not be present at the banquet.)
Volunteering for this opportunity means that you will arrive at 10:30am to set up, then stay for the banquet (free of charge), and then help to break down after it is over.
SETUP is 10:30am - 12noon
BREAKDOWN is usually from about 3:30pm - 4:30pm (depending on when the banquet actually ends)
YOU WILL BE HELPING WITH BOTH SETUP AND BREAKDOWN. This is a GREAT opportunity to learn about our organization, eat free food, and network with people of like minds!!! Volunteers under the age of 18 MUST be accompanied by a parent for the entire time. The parent will be able to stay for the banquet for free as well, and can assist with volunteer duties as well if they want to.
Duties could include the following:
- Setting up/putting away large tables and chairs
- Setting the tables with linens and other decorations
- Sweeping the floor after the event
- Assisting with audio/visual setup
Each individual volunteering, must sign up for this opportunity, as we only have room for 4 volunteers (not including parents). Please do not bring friends with you that have not signed up here. Thank you!
