Do you want to do something both personally rewarding and have a tremendous impact on the lives of others?
Then become a Lighten Hospice volunteer!
Many different types of volunteers are currently needed across the Salt Lake Valley to provide various services to families of the terminally ill. These services include, but certainly are not limited to: office administrative work, visiting, playing music, reading, gardening, running errands, helping write life histories, or just being a companion or comforting presence in the home. Becoming a hospice volunteer is similar to helping a neighbor or friend in need.
Hospice volunteers are an important part of our hospice team which provides our patients, caregivers and families with the most compassionate and comfortable end-of-life experiences possible. You do not need to have any medical training or even know what to say to others at the end of life. Our hospice will train you to understand the hospice philosophy of care; how to communicate with patients, their families and friends at the end of life; how to assist patients and families with grief, loss and bereavement; and more.
If this is something you would be interested, please contact Maddy, Volunteer Coordinator, to request an application and sign up for our volunteer training, at Lighten Hospice 801-327-2295.
