Pledge to pull garlic mustard at Crosby Farm Park

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Friends of the Mississippi River

Crosby Farm Park is a natural oasis in the heart of the city, nestled at the confluence of the Mississippi and Minnesota rivers. Join Friends of the Mississippi River staff on Thursday, April 26th, where volunteers will be working in an area home to a striking array of spring wildflowers native to Minnesota.

After a brief introduction and training, volunteers begin removing the extremely invasive plant, garlic mustard, then pledge to return to the area to continue this much-needed work. Please note that we ask all registrants at this particular event to sign a Pledge to Pull, promising to return and continue to remove garlic mustard at Crosby Farm Park in the weeks following this evening pull.

Identification and training will be provided. All are welcome, however, space is limited and registration is required. To learn more and register, visit https://fmr.org/events/2018/04/26/pledge-pull-garlic-mustard-crosby-farm-park

Mission Statement

Friends of the Mississippi River (FMR) engages people to protect, restore and enhance the Mississippi River and its watershed in the Twin Cities region.

Description

Friends of the Mississippi River is proud to work with roughly 3,000 volunteers annually.

We keep volunteering simple, fun and satisfying -- there are no applications, and you can sign up for one event or several. We list events especially in need of volunteers here on VolunteerMatch.com, but maintain a full calendar of 60+ events a year at www.fmr.org/events.

Our project work includes conservation and restoration of natural areas and habitat, education on watershed protection issues, and organizing activities that connect the public to the Mississippi River.
