Avantara is a skilled nursing and long term care community located in Parker, Colorado. Many of our residents are Veterans of WWII, Vietnam, and more. We are currently seeking a volunteer veteran to interact with our resident Veterans and/or the men in our community.
Only Veterans understand the experiences of other veterans. Ideally I would like a veteran to help run/facilitate a monthly meetup group for our veterans, but there is also the possibility of informal one on one visitations vet to vet if that is more your comfort zone!
As you know, our Veterans don't necessarily want to talk about their military experiences all the time. They enjoy all conversation and companionship, and would offer an attentive ear to your story as well!
Available days/times to volunteer: Monday-Sunday from 10:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m., 1:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m.
All volunteers are required to meet with the Director of Activities, and complete a volunteer application with a background check. This is done at no cost to the volunteer.
All individuals must agree to abide by all Avantara Volunteer policies and procedures. As a healthcare facility we are heavily regulated, and volunteers must agree to abide by our policies & procedures which ensure the safety of our residents and volunteers.

Rehabilitation, healthcare services, long term care. We are always looking for volunteers to spend time interacting with our residents. We have plenty of opportunities individuals and their pets, school groups, extracurricular groups, church groups, Veterans, and more!
